The Barcelona administration has come up with plans to bring Athletic striker Antoine Griezmann into their ranks this summer, and a crucial link will be Portuguese midfielder Andre Gomes, who counted the days in Catalonia, Diario Gol wrote.
Gomes had allegedly wanted to leave the club together with Ardo Turan, Javier Mascherano and Rafinha in January, but did not draw any attention from any of the clubs.
The Portuguese was thus forced to stay in Barcelona, who wanted to use it as part of the severance pay for Griezmann.
Catalans allegedly want to send Gomes and 100 million euros to Atletico in exchange for a French striker.
We remind you that Barcelona paid Gomes 35 million euros, and its current value is, according to the Transfermarkt, 22 million.
He recorded 21 appearances for Barcelona this season, but he mostly came from the bench and scored only one assist in those matches.
