Barcelona football club could play in front of empty stands if it is established that fans used offensive terms, said La Liga’s president Javier Tebas today.
“Offensive scandals against the state and its provinces have been banned and Camp Nou could absolutely be imprisoned for this. It is not the only option, but it is one of the more rigorous,” Thebas said.
The president of La Liga said that, on the other hand, scandals concerning the independence of Catalonia will not be punishable.
Barcelona have already played this season in front of empty stands, against Las Palmas, due to a referendum on independence.
Otherwise, the Catalans are in the first place of La Liga with four points more than Valencia and ten of the biggest competitors from Madrid – Real and Atletico.
